“基什兰丁Kisslanding餐厅”, 是莱雅·佩西丝Lea Pecresse在亚洲独一无二的试点餐厅
Lea Pecresse, started her career at Air France, married an airline pilot & been in the airline business all her life, now, she is an entrepreneur with an amazing airlines pilot shop, Kisslanding, in Bangkok, Thailand.
Lea says, Kisslanding is the only one of its kind in East Asia. “There are airlines pilot items for sale at Singapore and Hong Kong airports, but there is nothing like Kisslanding,” she says, adding that there are no other store like hers.
The items at Kisslanding are meant for professionals working in the airlines business, like pilots and flight attendants, but Kisslanding has a following, with the tourist to Bangkok segment, being Chinese tourist. “The Chinese loves airlines collectibles, and they love Boeing and Airbus, and Kisslanding is the official carrier of many products by them. At Kisslanding, many Chinese tourists would come in and buy products.” says Lea.
Looking around the items around Kisslanding, there is little wonder why pilots, flight attendants and tourists would love the store, located at Times Square Building, in the middle of Sukhumvit area. The items are a wide variety, like from not expensive coffee cups and t-shirts made for people in the airline industry, to more expensive professional product, like what a pilot would buy. But all items are especially made for pilots and flight attendants.
“People who want to own a part of the airlines culture, can come here and purchase items, that is a real part of the culture, says Lea.
But Lea takes it another level, saying that when pilots and other people come into Kisslanding and ask for a product she does not have, she would often, have the item made especially for them. “Yes, I would have t-shirt printed or coffee cup made with the logo, that a pilot want but cannot find. Doing that is part of having a niche market to serve and it gives me idea what to carry, and where to expand my interest,” says Lea.
Lea chose the location of the store because hotels around Times Square Building serves as housing center for airline industry people. But with Covid 19, only few airlines are still flying into and out of Thailand, and there are few Chinese tourist around, but Lea is optimistic about her business, saying that Thailand is an aviation hub, so the interest in aviation is strong, supporting such as a thriving flight students community in Thailand. “They still come to Kisslanding to do their shopping and also, adding the general Thai public is interested.
“More and more, non-airline industry people are finding out about Kisslanding, and are curious. With a visit, they often fall in love with Kisslanding, and buy items, because the items we sell here, are unique and cannot be found anywhere else in Bangkok,” says Lea.
Kisslanding is quite a unique store to visit, think of it, as taking a trip into a different culture, an unusual place that can surprise you.
“I am proud of Kisslanding,” says Lea, showing me around the store, with so many unique and remarkable items about the airline industry for sale.
